On November 17, we learned the Folk Dance "Irish Stew." (See Lesson Plans Tab) It was such a fun lesson! The students picked up the movements fairly quickly and some of them were even able to count the timing with the music. I was impressed by their ability to compare movements in dance to the first thanksgiving as well as general emotions. I loved how the students pretended to play the piccolo. They could not help themselves, the song was just so upbeat and fun. It was also a great way to help the class as a whole feel connected to each other.
